Home Page Prototype - Figma
Live Website with Accessibility Features

Role: Web Designer - Freelance

I led the project from design consult, to Figma wireframes and prototype, through to the development of the website.

The Brief

Burning Nest wanted a full redesign of their website that adhered to their brand guidelines, was accessible, user focused, and conveyed what the festival is like for anyone that hadn’t attended before.

Problem

Their previous website had moved away from their brand guidelines completely. The page structure needed an overhaul and the information on the website lacked hierarchy.

Insight

By moving away from the branding they’d created usability issues, using neon colours and illegible typefaces. A lack of H tags and meta data was causing additional accessibility issues and poor SEO performance.

Design Intent

  • Create a design that adheres to brand guidelines and improves UX
  • Establish a clear hierarchy in page structure and content
  • Revise/add H tags and meta data to improve accessibility and SEO
  • Add their own photography to better illustrate the event

Outcome

A cohesive user-friendly WordPress website, reviewed and approved by a large number of stakeholders.
