Role: Web Designer - Freelance
I handled the project end-to-end, from initial design consultation through to finished website launch.
The Brief
Nya Rue Events were looking for a full website redesign that better reflected their brand, was user-friendly, and aligned with their client base.
Problem
Their previous website had multiple usability issues such as white text on a white background, fixed elements taking up large areas of the screen, and broken links. The colour scheme didn’t match their ‘alternative/gothic’ branding, and their images were poorly displayed.
Insight
They had a huge collection of professional photos that evoked what a Nya Rue wedding is like but they weren’t utilising them. Their website was hard to use and unpolished, it didn’t give clients confidence to invest in them.
Design Intent
- Create a style guide in-keeping with the alternative/gothic branding
- Design the website to include a variety of images to demonstrate the client’s work
- Build a functional, responsive website that incorporates visual story telling
- Produce additional graphics; e-mail signatures, social media posts, to give a cohesive brand experience
Outcome
A professional, user-friendly website on WordPress, that reflects their branding as an alternative wedding planner and attracts clients that are aligned with their style and price point.
